Beira

Oh what fun we had back then
Lazing in the bright, hot sun
Happy people, free and young
To laugh and play without a care.

Miles and miles of golden sand
Slipping slowly through our hand
Cool blue waves splash on the shore
Tempting us to bathe once more.

A slow meander along the shore
With special friends that we adored
Whispering secrets that we could share
To special friends who really cared.

To the Wreck we would walk
Sit a while and have a talk
Slowly glancing here and there
To the Left our Lighthouse glared

Bright white and tall it stood
Warning ships way out to sea
Fluttering breezes on the palm tree
That lined our beach –
Pure delight, what glee.
