ANZAC DAY : 2001

So many generations have stood to fight
With strong beliefs - What's wrong and right.
Always believed that tomorrow will come
And with each new dawn a rising sun!

No more uniforms, cammo or fears -
Those terrible memories - buried amongst the years.
Forgotten by choice; the terror and pain -
Yet we remember every single name!

World War 1 - the Boer War too
Then more terror in World War Two!
The Rhodesian War now, with blacked out face -
Vietnam and Korea; all war's a disgrace!

And now you stand so young and fair
Your life is safe - you have no care.
With sapphire eyes you raise your head -
As solemnly you salute the dead.
